RVD Sabu arrest leads to dropped Belts

[[WWE]] a publically traded company has forced [[Rob Van Dam]] to drop both of his Championship belts after he was arrested in Ohio along with Sabu a few days ago. They were caught “Riding Dirty” with 18 grams of Marajuana and some pain killers. RVD was known to be a Weed Smoker (may Allah guide him). The WWE had a meeting with both wrestlers after they were released on bail. Then they had RVD drop both titles. The WWE belt was dropped to Edge, and the ECW title was dropped to Big Show. There is even talk about their contracts being completely terminated. What I don’t get is why did the WWE play on the fact that he is a weed smoker in order to promote their products. For example This t-shirt on sale at the WWE Shop has the phrase: “Flying Higher than ever”. On a recent promo RVD said.. “I gotta get rolling”. On last years One Night Stand Paul Heyman straight up came to the ring and said he just had “smoked a joint with Van Dam”. RVD on his site said he was celebrating 420 (April 20th- Natl Weed Smoking Day) with Samoa Joe, a TNA Wrestling Talent. One of RVD’s Monikers is “RVD:420 because I just smoked your a–”. Which he stated on ONS 2005. On his DVD he also has some jokes about smoking up. Like when Coach asks him how high does he get…. when he does his 5 star frog splash. So I think its very hipocritical of the WWE to reap the benefits of pushing a Weed Smoker to the top (getting weed smoking fans behind him). And then when he gets arrested, letting him crash and burn. About the painkillers all wrestlers use them because they really need them when they wrestle night after night. This is the ugly side of the business that no one wants to think about. But when you push alcoholism, weed smoking, and promiscuity what do you think is going to happen? If its not good for the business when someone gets arrested, or when someone dies, it should not be good at any point in time. They should sincerely push him to quit and they should stop trying to play both sides of the fence. Then again the WWE or other wrestling promotions are not known for their sense of morality anyway. I guess I am ticked because I could care less about the business, but care more about watching great wrestlers perform. I guess its hard to seperate whats real from what’s supposedly fake.
