The first thing he does is quit all his jobs. Then he puts on a long white tee and asks if now he’s supposed to be somebody babby daddy. Hilarious.
Aaron Magruder the creator of Boondocks is amazingly self critical of his own people while not hating his people. Often people compare his success to the success of Dave Chappelle. Dave always wondered if he was reinforcing racist stereotypes. Magruder through the various characters can touch on these stereotypes and in some cases he’s criticizing his own people quite strongly. For example look at how he portrays BET in this clip (Boondocks airs on adult swim, not BET - Ruckus’s reality show is on BET in this episode). But then again he can criticize self hating black people like Ruckus who are brainwashed. The Barber shop scene is a perfect example.
Season 2 of the Boondocks had its moments. I can’t wait for Season three.

eeeeeeeeeee….lol. This was mad funny yo. SubhanAllah, it is a very creative way to criticize. It’s interesting how Ruckus though he is so weird and outcast in his community is still an integral part of it. People just view him in a whimsical sad and eccentric way. For all of Ruckus’ antics, he needs his people and it shows.
I was watching season 2 on DVD and there’s an unaired episode on disc two bashing BET. I know it wasn’t aired because it was preceded by a 2 minute discussion of BET by the creator and the producer. It might be on YouTube, it’s called The Hunger Strike.
I got hunger strike off of torrents.. did not see the 2 minute intro though
Bobby Johnson the owner of BET was one of Hillary Clinton’s strongest supporters.
The only BET series I like is American Gangster
