The first thing he does is quit all his jobs. Then he puts on a long white tee and asks if now he’s supposed to be somebody babby daddy. Hilarious.
Aaron Magruder the creator of Boondocks is amazingly self critical of his own people while not hating his people. Often people compare his success to the success of Dave Chappelle. Dave always wondered if he was reinforcing racist stereotypes. Magruder through the various characters can touch on these stereotypes and in some cases he’s criticizing his own people quite strongly. For example look at how he portrays BET in this clip (Boondocks airs on adult swim, not BET - Ruckus’s reality show is on BET in this episode). But then again he can criticize self hating black people like Ruckus who are brainwashed. The Barber shop scene is a perfect example.
Season 2 of the Boondocks had its moments. I can’t wait for Season three.

Wow Two of my favorites… I think this impersonation is pretty good. Turns out they are training together. Warrior is getting ready for his match with the Italian Wrestling Promotion in his official return to the ring. And I guess RVD is trying to prevent becoming rusty in case he ever decides to make a come back.

After the ICNA Convention I was doing some searching on youtube to see what people put up. I found this. after subscribing to this user I got hooked on their videos. They have come up with one of the funniest home made videos sketches I have seen in a while:
A team of 3 brothers: Ismaeil, Hassan + another brother (don’t know his name) and their friend Abdullah are really creative and deserve to be commended, and have their videos subscribed to. I love how Ismael makes stuff up as he goes along.
Here’s some more videos from Shadibadoo that I really like:

The Boondocks won a Peabody for this episode:
Imagine if Martin Luther King Jr. didn’t die when he was shot, rather he went into a coma and awoke 30 years later:
Interesting way for Aaron Magruder to comment on the state of his own people. Now some reflections on the current election and the status of race (issues) in this country. Let me ask you a simple question: Would Barrack Obama have a chance at the U.S presidency if he were not light skinned? I don’t think so, he would not be taken as seriously if he was dark (even by black people). We know of this self hate all too well in the Indian Subcontinent. His good looks are really helping him cut through the racial bias. Like Mos Def said.. he’s a good looking man. He has been put on numerous magazine covers, which has given him serious national exposure (even more so than Edwards). I think he should take Oprah on tour with him like Huckabee does with Chuck Norris.
Popular Muslim Blogger Umar Lee wrote a not so obviously satirical letter from Obama about his religious identity. This is also a racial issue because it has to do with Obama’s roots.
On a related note, Mitt Romney interacts with parade marchers on MLK day and stumbles over himself trying to use pop/hip-hop references. While taking pictures with a group of black kids he says “Who let the dogs out!” WTH, what a moron! Then he refers to a little black baby as Michael Jordan, says bling bling and comments on a little girls pretty (white) gloves! One youtube commenter says this must be his first time around black people (causing him to act so awkwardly). He wouldn’t do the same thing with prospective voters of the Caucasian race would he?

I have seen this film in its entire length. It’s really good. So good that it won at the Tribeca Film Festival this year for Best Documentary Short. I also had the pleasure of working with Musa Sayeed and Yoni Brook (the producers and director) of this film on a short documentary of the AerosolArabic USA Arts and Islam Tour. You can view an early version of the documentary they working on for that tour here.
